Dr. Martens is a well-known shoe company, their website has their full history of how they became a symbol of self-expression, then became a common customized item, and finally became common with band culture. They are a brand that is all about doing the right thing.
In the last couple years, they have been doing amazing collaborations with various different brands like Supreme and shows like Adventure Time, Beavis and Butthead, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. But their most recent collaboration was will the brand Lazy Oaf; a clothing brand making irrelevant street fashion that center around youth nostalgia and teenage rebellion.
With them both being UK brands center around rebellion, it was a perfect match. They came out with Two boots in pink and black:
The collaboration takes both their different Ideas of rebellion and mashes them together to make an amazing goth and soft looks with the addition of their platform boots, that can also handle a beating.
These boots were restocked at least twice selling out amazingly fast. Saying this was successful would be an understatement, but if I was a part of Dr. Marten I would reject the idea of making their collaborations limited edition. As an avid Dr. Marten fan or about 3 years. Some people might wear these shoes daily and if they aren’t a perfect human then eventually they are going to be non-wearable. So down the road, they might want to buy them again because of how amazing they were the first time around. Also, I would try to collab with various people, brands, and even artist. Dr. Martian already has a customization tour, if some artist instead came out with their own shoe that people could buy. Who has the same amazing ideas and the same rebellious soul; it would be a really big hit.
